Job Description

A senior geotechnical engineer is sought to undertake geotechnical design for projects across various sectors in Ireland and overseas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake geotechnical design for projects across various sectors in Ireland and overseas
  • Deliver projects within budget and timeframes, liaising with multidisciplinary teams and clients
  • Manage, direct, and develop junior staff
  • Provide advisory services to public and private sector clients
  • Project manage geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
  • Post-graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, or equivalent (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role in geotechnical design and/or construction
  • Strong technical understanding of deep excavations, deep and shallow foundations, earthworks, slope stability, and soft ground solutions
  • Experience of planning, managing, supervising, and interpreting geotechnical investigations
  • Good planning, organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments
  • Effective written communication and report writing skills
  • Awareness or experience in 3D modelling, GIS, scripting, or automation and their application to geotechnics (advantageous)
  • Awareness or experience of contaminated land/waste and reuse of earthworks materials (advantageous)
  • Flexibility to travel and full driver's license (advantageous)
