Senior health and safety advisor sought for Longford area to manage emergency procedures, respond to health and safety-related complaints, and keep a focus on health and safety within the business.
The company, a tier 1 main contractor with over €450 million in revenue, is looking for an experienced professional to take on this role.
Job Description
- Manage emergency procedures and respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues
- Keep a focus on health and safety within the business
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
- Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
- Outline safe operational procedures that identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicate to all employees
- Keep records of inspections findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
- Keep records of incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
- Deliver Toolbox Talks and liaise with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers
- Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to
Requirements
- Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred)
- 3+ years in similar role
- Previous construction experience
- IT Skills
- Ability to work well as a team and collaborate with others
