IJ Health & Safety Advisor - Kildare

The Life Science and Tech division is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the team in Kildare.

Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
2. Assist the BU HSE Manager in the consistent roll out of company strategy and expectations within SOPs, Guidance etc.
3. Carry out high quality safety inspections of Sisk workplaces at a frequency and with the intrusiveness as coached by the BU HSE Manager.
4. Perform risk reviews.
5. Attend sites following accidents/incidents and assist with the investigation.
6. In the absence of the Project Director, lead the investigation.
7. Liaise with enforcement authorities if they attend site on routine visits or to investigate following an incident.
8. Understand bespoke client requirements and tailor management system to same with line manager approval.
9. Alert your line manager if there are signs of deterioration or lack of ownership to delivering expected Sisk and/or bespoke client safety requirements.
10. Assist the BU HSE Manager with tender and pre-qualification submissions where requested advising on Health and Safety concerns as well as helping provide practical solutions.
11. Attend Start Up meetings with Sisk site teams.
12. Where requested, attend other meetings with Client & supply chain.
13. Coach staff at all levels in Health and Safety expectations and standards, implement the management system and coach and encourage others to use it appropriately.
14. Foster innovative ideas for enhanced safety performance.
15. Deliver appropriate training.
16. Have and share knowledge and advice with teams on environmental principles and management.

Requirements

1. At least 10 years in construction industry, ideally Pharma.
2. At least 10 years as a Health and Safety professional.
3. Be inquisitive in root cause outcomes.
4. Lead on improvement initiatives.
5. Effective and confident training provider.
6. Time Management.
7. Organisation Skills.
8. NEBOSH Construction Diploma or equivalent.
9. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
10. NVQ Level 4 / EQF L5 on Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent.
11. Internal Auditor.
