Job role: Senior Health & Safety Officer Waterford Area Our client who is one of the main building contractors in Ireland is looking for a Senior H&S professional to join their ever-growing company. This company works across all sectors within the construction industry such as retail, fit outs, industrial, residential etc. This is a fantastic opportunity for a H&S advisor to take the next step in their career with great career progression opportunities within ever growing company. They are looking for H&S professionals who will help keep the health and safety of their sites up to standard. They class H&S as a main priority within their working environment. Day-to-day responsibilities: Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employers industry Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation Skills and qualifications: Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred) 4+ years in similar role Previous construction experience IT Skills This is an excellent opportunity for somebody that wants to further their career in health and safety with great career progression opportunities.
