You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.A Day in the LifeThe Senior High Volume Automation Engineering Manager for Automation will be responsible for the development, installation and support of High-Volume Automated manufacturing systems while engaging with partners in R&D to develop new products for automation.A Day in The Life Of:Defines and executes deliverables in the development and delivery of fully automated manufacturing platforms.Engages with Process and Product Design teams early in the process to ensure Design for Automation is implemented.Ensure process and tooling design capabilities by means of comprehensive technical reviews, physical and simulated testing, and robust documentation.Working with internal and external partners to produce tooling, platform prototypes, and demonstrate manufacturing capability.Responsible for team's professional development to promote engagement, growth, job satisfaction and organizational health.Collaborate across Medtronic to ensure best practices are employed in product, process and tooling design and development.Manages relations with equipment suppliers to ensure effective equipment design and on-time delivery.Identifies, plans, and maintains resource needs, cost centre budget, employee assignment, and staffing decisions.Ensures engineering approach and designs conform to applicable industry standards and Medtronic procedures.Plans, directs, and implements all aspects of automated manufacturing for the company's design and development of new medical device products.Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing manufacturing technologies.Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of process and tooling development.Travels, sometimes for extended periods less than 25%, to international and domestic destinations for equipment development, construction and implementation.Works, manages and engages remotely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple time zones and geographies.Key Skills & ExperienceLevel 8 Honors Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline is required.Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.10+ years' experience in development, transfer, implementing and managing of high-volume (+12M), electromechanical automated assembly systems.Strong problem-solving, risk assessment, and negotiation skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills.Able to travel 25% or more of the time, as required to accomplish business’ goals.Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible Benefits PackagePhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.Benefits & CompensationMedtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits PackageA commitment to our employees lives at the core of our values.
