Job Description
The Senior Linux Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, automating, testing, and maintaining Linux servers and Openshift container Platform in both on-prem and cloud environments. This role involves working as an individual contributor and integrator, collaborating with team members and utilizing technologies to fulfill projects and technical requirements. The engineer will also troubleshoot, support, and maintain on-prem Enterprise Systems Infrastructure and Cloud Automation Services.Responsibilities:Implement new products and upgrade existing infrastructure in collaboration with architecture, engineering, and security teams.Install, implement, and maintain operating software and associated components.Apply maintenance fixes to system software and firmware.Resolve issues with Unix and Linux servers in production and test environments.Contribute to securing Linux or AIX operating system deployments in production.Evaluate new hardware and software, providing creative solutions to technological challenges.Develop and maintain scripts for task automation and deployment.Create test plans for implementing new software or releases.Optimize system software for performance and availability.Provide support to end users and developers, including off-shift and on-call support.Deliver technical training to IT personnel as needed.Implement hardware and software upgrades with minimal downtime.Maintain Linux Unix disaster recovery plan and participate in recovery activities.Identify opportunities for infrastructure and process improvements.Required Technical Skills/Experiences:Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, Red Hat Satellite.Develop automation and infrastructure-as-code using Ansible/Terraform/Azure DevOps.Assist with cloud migrations and adherence to company standards.Participate in the implementation of monitoring systems.Troubleshoot and support Red Hat Linux and Red Hat Satellite.Automation and DevOps:Scripting using Bash.Familiarity with Azure DevOps/GitHub for code management and pipelines.Experience with Ansible/Ansible Automation Platform/Ansible Tower.Familiarity with Terraform.Critical Job Knowledge and Core Competencies:Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.Results-oriented with high standards.Initiative, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity.Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.Self-motivated and a self-starter.Excellent mentoring skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong technical ability for troubleshooting and problem analysis.Ability to influence and resolve conflicts.Customer service mindset and commitment to quality.Strong sense of urgency and accountability with exceptional time management skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
