Flexsource are currently working with a nationwide composite material provider, in order to recruit a Senior Logistics Planner to add to their existing growing team.

Our client offers candidates the opportunity to join their organisation as a Senior Logistics Planner, responsible for asphalt products, servicing their road surfacing business units and our external customer base throughout Ireland.

As a Senior Logistics Planner, you will be given the opportunity to learn via a blend of practical and personal development experiences such as:

1. On the job learning, focused on processes and activities within the CP+A business unit and supply of concrete products from our manufacturing locations.
2. Logistics system and processes training.
3. Tailored learning through internal or external resources.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan the most effective daily transport and delivery schedules for each manufacturing location.
2. Lead a logistics team to manage our business process for order delivery, including customer service.
3. Work closely with manufacturing location managers and batching teams to deliver effective production planning, understand location capacity, and product capability.
4. Oversee process orders received via telephone, email, face-to-face, or Sales Team.
5. Responsible for vehicle planning and allocation of fleet to locations to fulfil daily orders.
6. Ensure all customer orders are delivered within agreed timeframes.
7. Ensure ongoing effective communication with site teams, fleet, production locations, technical, and sales.
8. Understand and achieve specific targets regarding utilisation of trucks, costs, and empty journeys.
9. Work closely with dispatch teams to maximise the utilisation of trucks.
10. Oversight on the delivery of the right products and material quantities to customers.

Skills Required:

1. 5+ years' experience working in a logistics or dispatch office.
2. Strong knowledge of systems/detailed administration.
3. Logistics experience within manufacturing would be beneficial.
4. Supply Chain or Logistics third level qualification is desirable.
