Job Description
A Senior Logistics Planner is sought to lead a logistics team and manage order delivery for a nationwide composite material provider.
This role involves planning daily transport and delivery schedules, coordinating with manufacturing location managers and batching teams, and overseeing process orders and vehicle planning.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in logistics or dispatch, strong knowledge of systems and administration, and a strong understanding of logistics processes within manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan daily transport and delivery schedules for each manufacturing location
- Lead a logistics team to manage order delivery, including customer service
- Work closely with manufacturing location managers and batching teams to deliver effective production planning
- Oversee process orders received via various channels
- Responsible for vehicle planning and allocation of fleet to locations
- Ensure all customer orders are delivered within agreed timeframes
- Ensure ongoing effective communication with site teams, fleet, production locations, technical, and sales teams
- Meet specific targets regarding utilisation of trucks, costs, and empty journeys
- Work closely with dispatch teams to maximise the utilisation of trucks
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in logistics or dispatch
- Strong knowledge of systems and administration
- Logistics experience within manufacturing a plus
- Supply Chain or Logistics third-level qualification desirable
