Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment. Respond to breakdowns and provide troubleshooting support for both mechanical and electrical issues. Ensure all safety and environmental controls are integrated into maintenance activities. Support production teams in meeting targets by maintaining equipment efficiency. Monitor equipment performance, intervene when issues arise, and document actions in the CMMS system. Assist with new equipment installations, modifications, and supplier collaborations. Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on technical tasks. Maintain a safe, organized workshop and adhere to all health and safety policies. Record, report, and escalate issues promptly, ensuring continuous communication with management. Conduct accident investigations and collaborate with management on preventative measures. Key Skills: Multi-skilled in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in high-speed, PLC-controlled equipment. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently. Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Proficient in using CMMS and other maintenance-related software. Qualifications and Experience: Relevant trade qualification (electrician or fitter). Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within a regulated manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, automation, and PLC systems. Good understanding of health, safety, and food safety regulations. Health and Safety Duties: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the use of PPE and safety devices. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and ensure compliance with safety standards. Report any hazards, accidents, or incidents immediately and assist in corrective actions. Participate in safety audits and ensure the workplace is safe for all employees.
