Job Description

We have partnered with a scaling, private equity backed business who have created a new role within the finance team to support the business through an important period of growth. This role has been designed to support the financial operations of the manufacturing process by assisting in cost tracking, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate data entry and help in preparing cost analysis reports to aid decision-making. Contribute to maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and support decision-making through detailed financial insights. Responsibilities: Business partner with the Site General Manager on developing a Self-Perpetuating Manufacturing business model. Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the financial reporting system. Set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cost management and inventory. Conduct monthly meetings with team members to provide guidance and feedback. Conduct costings, analysis, and provide ad hoc reporting to support commercial decisions. Develop saving costing initiatives, providing guidance and advice to stakeholders. Monitor, review, and challenge changes or movements in cost drivers. Perform periodic full standard cost rebuilds due to specific changes such as new products, process improvements, or equipment upgrades. Control direct labour and overhead expenditure. Review and allocate overhead costs, evaluating the methodology used. Analyse actual labour and overhead costs against standard rates and assess recovery rates. Collaborate with the IT department and vendors to integrate ICT systems into financial and cost accounting processes. Provide NPD support by preparing preliminary costings for projects. Identify and address stock aging issues, driving process improvements where necessary. Monitor movements in material supplier pricing. Assist the team in reporting and managing inventory. Support the budgeting process by providing cost-related insights and data. Qualifications & Skills: Professional qualification in accountancy. Experienced with ERP/IT systems and business reporting. Proficiency in MS Excel, Pivot Tables, PowerBI, and other financial tools for cost analysis. Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload with minimal supervision, working to tight and often changing timescales. Able to understand the bigger picture and link all activity to strategic company goals. Able to communicate verbal and written information in a clear and concise manner. Has an enthusiastic and respectful manner and interacts with people in a motivating way. Able to investigate, scrutinise and analyse situations and data to get to the root cause of issues, see the bigger picture, and identify the best way forward. Consistently seek to improve on what they do and what they achieve through their agents and subordinates. Able to build and present a convincing case to enable own goals to be achieved through the cooperation of others.
