Responsibilities: SENIOR MANAGER DIGITAL DESIGN ENGINEER THE ROLE: AMD seeks a passionate, collaborative leader with strong technical skills to lead our growing Wireless Engineering Digital Design team in Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to join the innovative and multi-award winning team that has developed the RF data converter sub-system, including direct-RF digital signal processing, around which Zynq Ultrascale+ RFSoC is built. As a Digital Design Manager at AMD, you will play a critical role in enabling new and differentiating IP within our portfolio of cutting-edge semiconductor products. You will lead a team of talented engineers to architect and design complex IP and sub-systems, driving best-in-class performance per watt, ensuring design quality through reviews and QA automation, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class products to market. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate has experience leading others in technical and managerial settings. You also have excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of digital design engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Project Management: Define project plans, schedules, and resource allocations, effectively managing priorities and dependencies to meet aggressive product development timelines. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with architecture, physical design, verification and software teams to drive alignment on development goals, resolve technical challenges, and ensure successful product tape-outs. Methodology Development: Drive the adoption and evolution of state-of-the-art design methodologies, tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and quality, including the evaluating, developing and adopting AI initiatives in design flows and methodologies. Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance processes and metrics, conducting reviews and audits to identify and mitigate risks throughout the design lifecycle. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, optimize processes, and enhance team productivity. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: A strong leader with experience working with a distributed team. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Proven experience managing and leading design engineering teams with a track record of successfully leading design teams through multiple tape-out cycles on leading edge process nodes. Prior experience in optimizing performance (client, server, system, or embedded). Extensive system engineering background and technical expertise across the full digital design flow from specification to tapeout. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Able to summarize complex problems for executives as well as drill down to details with architects and engineers. Strong analytic and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze current behavior, identify potential areas for improvement and design of experiments. Must be a self-starter and self-motivated. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering.
