Job Description

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Site Risk Lead to support the Innovative Medicine Large Molecule Business Leader in delivering early estimating efforts and business case alignment, Long Range Financial Planning, Site maturity assessments, cashflow delivery, and ensuring project progress and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

As a key member of the Global Project Controls & Assurance team, the Site Risk Lead will be responsible for supporting the Large Molecule (LM) Portfolio of CapEx projects for LRFP 2024 - 28, providing guidance on Front End Loading/early estimating, and ensuring that resources, capabilities, and processes are in place.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, demonstrated competency interfacing with multiple levels of the organization, and proven experience driving progress on large capital projects while remaining focused under ambiguous and complex situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Large Molecule (LM) Portfolio of CapEx projects for LRFP 2024 - 28.
  • Provide guidance/delivery on Front End Loading/early estimating supporting the Capital investments by obtaining agreement on project definitions, scope, and priorities.
  • Support PPM Lead supporting the platform/sites.
  • Perform/support site maturity portfolio management across 6 sites to understand the level and understand gaps at each site.
  • Manage Site/Project performance of spend & cashflow projections.
  • Develop business processes to support the LM Platform with aspiration to best in class/top quartile.
  • Develop best practice portfolio management dashboards to effectively manage the portfolio.
  • Implement measurement of Key Performance Indicators (both leading & lagging).
  • Perform delta analysis to LRFP/JU/BP/NU with corrective actions to meet BP +/- 5% target.
  • Baseline/re-baseline with effective change control systems.
  • Work with PPMO and PPM Leads (on-site) to continuously improve Planisware (inc. data) and Power BI reports generated to automate eliminating manual tasks where possible to drive efficiency.
  • Standardize site intake process with prioritization and management thereof and ensure aligned with Platform Strategy.
  • Perform order of magnitude resource estimation utilizing benchmarks for headcount to support execution.
  • Support the implementation of the IDEA Project Delivery Process, ensuring focus on cost and schedule objectives, identify and mitigate risk, and adhere to key financial procedures.
  • Work with team to develop & align Capital Appropriation Request(s) estimates, cost accounting, and detailed schedule to ensure seamless integration of project approval.
  • Ensure that projects are implementing key Risk processes at all stages of the IDEA project delivery process (Cost & Schedule Risks assessments).
  • Review construction estimate trend reports prior to establishment of GMA contract with contractor.
  • Evaluate project contingency budgets and monitor usage throughout the duration of the project.
  • Maintain and update 21-Tab / ESR that accurately reflect status against the funding authorization and target schedule, identifies key accomplishments, critical issues, and potential areas of concern, and tracks project cashflow against plan and project safety statistics.
  • Ensure proper schedule integration and focus on identification of critical and near-critical paths so that the project team can begin to consider possible mitigation plans in case of schedule delay.
Qualifications:
  • University/Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; focused degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or similar field.
  • Minimum 10 years of project controls experience supporting major capital projects/relative business experience and project or operations management.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering/construction/projects controls execution.
  • Prior experience managing complex high-value capital projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of translating complex business needs into clear Final Project Objectives.
  • Track record of developing and maintaining highly collaborative partnerships at all levels within the organization.
  • Highly skilled listening and problem-solving skills when managing potential project conflicts.
  • Full working knowledge of Project Controls methodologies in estimating, cost and schedule development, and risk control processes.
  • Familiarity with multiple contract types and implementation.
  • Experience in integrated scheduling is required; working knowledge with Primavera is preferred.
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with J&J Project Management approaches (FPX & IDEA Project Delivery Process).
  • Experience with web-based project management systems (OpenText, Livelink) and Monte Carlo Cost analysis.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated industry.
  • Language: Conversational German and/or Dutch is preferred.
