Design Build Search are working with a leading building services Engineering contractor who have an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Estimator. The applicant will be based in our clients Wexford office. Within this position you will report directly to Senior Management. Scope of projects include: Commercial Food and Beverage Life science Residential Minimum: Relevant degree or trade background A minimum of 5 years previous experience in Estimating with a main Building Services contractor Tendering experience with a knowledge or background in HVAC industry or similar would be highly desirable Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills Experience in pricing projects, working autonomously and within a team Experience working towards tight deadlines and budgets A clear understanding of building regulations and legal guidelines is strongly preferred Analytical mindset Strong negotiation skills High attention to detail Willingness to learn and be flexible as required Able to promote a positive personal/professional profile Role will be primarily office based but will require some travel to sites throughout the country evaluating potential work Job description The Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of detailed tenders Conduct periodic review of work practices to identify appropriate cost saving measures Quantify material, plant and labour requirements for relevant projects Analyse sub-contractor quotations, checking inclusions and exclusions Negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors Issue tender queries and prepare tender reports Source and categorise pre-project information Create a procurement schedule for the project Prepare cost reports and detailed estimates Complete the final handover to the project team Skills: Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Estimator tender management Quantity Surveying Plumbing
