Job Description

Senior MEP Cost Manager role at KPMG Ireland, responsible for leading and delivering cost management and quantity surveying services on projects from inception to completion.

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will lead and deliver in all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from project inception to completion. You will work with an Associate or Director to successfully manage and deliver a number of projects, typically ranging in value from €5m - €500m+.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Feasibility estimates
  • Procurement advice
  • Ensuring deliverables are produced to high standards and issued on time
  • Cost planning and Cash-flow forecasting
  • Value and risk management
  • Post contract management
  • Supporting and developing team members

Requirements:

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management
  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP Drawings, Specifications & Schematics
  • Understanding of the general MEP Market & Supply Chain
  • Understanding a variety of project types/ Data Centres, Life Sciences, Energy & Manufacturing
  • Understanding of RIAI and GCCC standard forms of contract
  • Experience of preparing bid submissions
  • Prior line-management experience or mentoring
  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on procurement, cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
