The position will support the Company’s internal and client Networks in addition to providing escalation support as and when required. This is a highly specialised technical role within the Service Department and is responsible for providing networking design and support. Our organisation has gone through rapid growth over the last 36 months attracting top talent to work on our innovative Microsoft automation solutions, from .NET developers to specialist infrastructure engineers, the standard has been exceptional. We are the only provider of automation solutions for Microsoft across Europe.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide consultancy to the business for network infrastructure changes or projects, including the design and implementation of new solutionsSupport of multiple network environments both internally and for external clientsUndertake 2nd and 3rd line network fault investigations including analysis, resolution and updating or producing documentationReview and complete moves, additions, and changes to the network infrastructure in line with the customer’s requirementsEstablish and administrate network monitoring and alertingProduce method statements in line with required change control procedures to support changes to the network infrastructureSupport and administer the firewall environments in line with IT Security Policy including changes to rule sets, IPS administration and VPN configuration and troubleshootingPerform upgrades to the network infrastructure to latest stable firmware releasePerform ad-hoc traffic analysis to help identify causes of IT system issues and produce reports that present and explain the information collectedProduce and maintain design, support, commissioning, and installation documentationAct as our IT Security Officer providing input and guidance to ensure we obtain and maintain ISO certificationsKnowledge and Qualifications Required3 years + experience of providing IT support services or equivalent experience of customer facing technical servicesExperience in multi-vendor networks such as Cisco and FortinetKnowledge of WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, Layer 2, Layer 3 RoutingCCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or a person close to CCNP statusFirewall Appliance AdministrationExperience of network monitoring tools such as PTRG and SolarWindsPrevious experience of network analysis and migrationsAdministration and Implementation of Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and FortiGate firewalls2nd/3rd line support – data networks and Microsoft server technologiesA fundamental technical understanding of Microsoft Technologies including Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and ExchangeKnowledge of ITIL best practiceKnowledge of Azure cloud solutionsAdditional InformationAs this role requires access to a high level of confidential information security checks will be completed at induction.TrainingTraining on products and services will be provided, however, employees are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on his/her/their areas of responsibility. Personal training in relation to job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development programme.Conditions of EmploymentThe salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed.General GuidanceThe nominal working week is 37.5 hours, although a degree of flexibility is both offered and expected. In specific circumstances there may be a requirement to work additional hours. Annual holidays are 21 days plus 8 statutory holidays.
