Applications are invited for the temporary position of Senior Physiotherapist in Rehab: ED/AMU in St. Vincents University Hospital. Role Summary: The post holder will develop and provide an early intervention and onward referral service to attendees of the Emergency Department and related areas (AMU/ AMAU). Treatment takes place under three main categories care of older people, respiratory medicine and musculoskeletal care. A high level of proficiency is required in all three areas, in collaboration with other seniors in each specialty. The post holder will work primarily within the physiotherapy rehabilitation team but close liaison with each team is required. Maintenance of effective relationships with the ED team and primary, community and continuing care physiotherapy teams is essential for the completion of this work. Creativity in terms of the set up and audit of appropriate review clinics, patient referral pathways, etc. is expected. The post holder will work in alignment with current health service aims in respect of emergency care and provision of treatment in the most appropriate environment. A panel may be formed to fill temporary vacancies which may arise over the next 6 months.
