Job Description

DR Solutions is seeking to source a number of experienced Senior & Lead Piping Designers for both internal projects and site-based secondments with key clients in Dublin & Cork. Our clients are leading design & engineering firms who specialize in the life sciences, data centre & semiconductor sectors. Both long-term contracts and staff options are available for designers of suitable calibre. Long-term work and hybrid working models are available. For further info, please contact Diarmaid (Recruitment Manager) on 085-118 7741. The Piping Designer will work on various projects as assigned by Project Managers & Lead Designers. They will play a key role in the entire design process including, but not limited to, preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, and problem resolution. Roles & Responsibilities Develops design concepts; prepares documents during the design development phase. Corrects and updates design documents. Develops solutions to design problems. Uses computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents. Reviews drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards. Attends pre-bid meetings and assists the project team in evaluating commercial proposals. Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion. Interacts with clients on a limited basis to secure scope and design intent. Routinely archives and retrieves data from electronic databases for support of work. Research equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer. Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to assure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination. Coordinates design work with related engineering disciplines. Attends job and construction meetings and participates in the coordination of the work. Researches non-routine code issues and obtains interpretations from code officials. Supports field installation and start-up activities. Provides limited contribution to performance reviews for assigned staff. Special projects as assigned. Required Experience & Qualifications Minimum 3 years previous design experience. A Technical or Associate Degree in drafting and/or design from an accredited technical institution or college is preferred. Must be proficient in the use of computers for design and understand CAD operations. General knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design. Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes. Experience using Plant 3D or CADworx and Navisworks is essential. Proven time management skills in order to juggle more than one project at a time. Customer service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills. Process industrial experience, especially in the Life Sciences industries, is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
