Job Description

Lead and manage the planning, controls, and risk identification for large-scale projects. Assist in the delivery of high-quality engineering projects, working with a dynamic team to ensure timely, safe, and budget-friendly results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead high-performance project planning teams, mentoring and supporting Regional Planning Managers and teams.
  • Ensure Regional Planning Managers and teams deliver according to their R&R, implementing and complying with internal planning and controlling processes.
  • Develop and implement internal collaborative planning training and onsite executions.
  • Champion collaborative planning, the implementation of the Planning Process, Front End Loading of Schedules, and ensuring Operations are involved in the process.
  • Ensure Regional Planning Managers and teams regularly reforecast plans and targets, recover deficits, and produce rolling project look-ahead.
  • Ensure Regional Planning Managers and teams implemented SE reporting, supported the implementation of FWTG, and provided a high-standard service to Operations.
  • Identify risks early and ensure key governance roles are carried out effectively, flagging and escalating risk items as necessary.
  • Standardize plans and programmes to enable automated reporting, develop SOP's and processes, and lead their implementation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or strong trades background with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the Construction Industry, with at least 3-5 years in a senior planning role.
  • Extensive experience in M&E construction is essential.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other relevant planning software.
  • Experience with complex, large-scale construction projects, particularly in Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial orientated sectors.

Desired Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of M&E systems and how they integrate with broader construction activities.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices, particularly in large-scale construction projects.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foresee potential scheduling issues and implement solutions proactively.
  • Sound understanding of cost management and budgeting principles related to construction projects.
