Location: Dublin City Role: Senior Portfolio Underwriting Manager Underwriting Portfolio Manager wanted for Leading Insurance Group-Dublin Abrivia are currently seeking a Senior Portfolio Underwriting Manager to join our client, a leading insurance provider. This role will focus on managing a diverse portfolio while providing strategic underwriting expertise to drive profitability and sustainable growth. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the insurance market, with significant experience in portfolio management and underwriting leadership. This role is offered on a hybrid model and includes healthcare, pension, bonus and much more Your Role Manage and oversee a complex portfolio of risks across various lines of business. Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve targeted profitability and growth. Provide expert underwriting leadership across the team, supporting junior underwriters in their decision-making process. Collaborate with brokers and key stakeholders to ensure appropriate risk selection and management. Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements, maintaining strong governance across the portfolio. Conduct in-depth analysis of the portfolio performance, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments where necessary. Work closely with the leadership team to contribute to the overall business strategy, representing the underwriting function. Your Skills Extensive underwriting experience within commercial or specialised insurance, ideally in a portfolio management capacity. Proven track record in developing and executing underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support a team of underwriters. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities, able to interpret and act on complex data. ACII qualification or equivalent, preferred but not essential.
