Job Description

Senior Power Supply Electronics Design Engineer required by growing IoT multinational with operations in Cork. You will get the chance to work on the design and optimization of digitally controlled power supply systems, developing innovative solutions across a diverse range of applications, including Industrial, IT, Household, Medical, Electro-mobility, and Solar sectors. A strong grasp of control theory is highly beneficial. If you're passionate about R&D, Technology, Power Electronics, and Lean Manufacturing, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge Digital Power Supply designs.RESPONSIBILITIES:Power Supply Design: Lead the creation and development of advanced digitally controlled power supply systems, tailored to specific customer needs and industry standards.Component Selection: Identify and select critical components like semiconductors, transformers, and capacitors to optimize performance and efficiency.Control Theory Application: Utilize your control theory expertise to implement and refine control algorithms, ensuring precise and stable power supply operation.Efficiency Optimization: Focus on maximizing power conversion efficiency while minimizing energy losses to deliver highly efficient solutions.Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Address EMC requirements to ensure compliance with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.Safety Certification: Ensure power supply designs meet relevant safety standards and work towards obtaining necessary certifications.Design-for-Manufacturing (DfM): Collaborate with manufacturing teams to create products optimized for efficient and cost-effective production.Design-to-Cost (DtC): Work to achieve cost targets while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.FMEA Assessments: Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and develop mitigation strategies.Technical Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve technical challenges during design and testing phases.Innovation and Trends: Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in power electronics, bringing forward innovative ideas to enhance product performance and features.REQUIREMENTS:PhD or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Bachelor's Degree may be considered with strong knowledge in Power Electronics, Math, and Physics.Experience in Power Electronics or Power Supply Design.Proficiency in small signal analog electronics.Strong understanding of control theory and its application in power electronics.Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in power supply design.Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, SIMETRIX, FEMM).Hands-on experience with electronic laboratory equipment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Self-motivated and capable of working independently. #J-18808-Ljbffr
