Cpl is delighted to be partnering with a global Tech client as they continue to scale their recently established Mobile Engineering Hub in Ireland. This organisation is going through an exciting change, expanding their software solutions to further add value to their growing client base. To assist in the delivery of this significant transformation, the business is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer/Architect - iOS to join the team.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Software Engineering, you will own the architectural strategy for mobile applications (iOS & Android). You will combine individual contributor tasks, as well as overseeing the high-level mobile application design. The role is suited to a strategic thinker who can balance hands-on coding with architectural responsibilities, ensuring that mobile solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with company technical vision.

Specific Responsibilities:

Evaluate and assess current mobile applications and cloud-based systems.

Create and maintain an architectural vision for mobile applications, patterns and standards.

Create PoCs and reference implementations to help communicate your vision.

Work with the VP Engineering, CTO and your counterparts for Cloud and Embedded Systems to create an end-to-end technical vision for mobile applications.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders to create an end-to-end technical vision for mobile applications.

Lead and encourage the adoption of standard tools, practices and stacks across teams.

Key Requirements:

15+ years of experience in software development

Expert iOS development, Objective-C and Swift.

Proven experience architecting and building world class consumer mobile applications (native iOS & Android).

Strong technical UX, APIs & microservices experience.

Knowledge of cross-platform technology such as React Native, Flutter, Ionic - highly regarded.

Ability to effectively balance long term technical vision with short term business goals.

Ability to write clean, well factored UI code.

Implementing DevOps, CI/CD and automation along with modern software engineering best practices.

Knowledge of security best practices.

Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.

Creative thinker and strong problem solver.

Effective leader with hands on approach.
