Job Title: Senior/Principal Freshwater Ecologist / Hydro-Ecologist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced freshwater ecologist to join our team in Ireland.
Atkins Réalis is a leading provider of environmental consulting and support services with offices across Ireland. We are looking for a senior or principal freshwater ecologist/hydro-ecologist to work on water projects, schemes, and to address general water use and management issues throughout Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement freshwater ecology management plans to improve aquatic ecology in line with the Water Framework Directive (WFD) objectives.
- Assess and determine the status of freshwater ecology in Ireland using routine metrics and methods such as Q and SSRS scoring systems.
- Conduct fieldwork and data analysis to identify key issues impacting freshwater ecology, including agricultural impacts, wastewater treatment, and abstractions.
- Collaborate with clients, staff, and senior managers to develop and implement business development and client engagement strategies.
- Write proposals and tenders and win and deliver work.
Requirements:
- Educated to at least degree level (Level 8/9).
- Relevant work experience, at least some of which will be in a consultancy environment.
- Chartered Scientist, Environmentalist, or Ecologist.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of personal integrity and commitment to upholding company values.
