Job Description

Position: Senior Process Engineer Location: Longford Permanent The Role: Our client are seeking to recruit a Senior Process Engineer as part of their dynamic and innovative team. The role involves assisting the Engineering/Production department in enhancing product manufacturing by developing optimal molding processes, tooling, and automation that meet or exceed customer requirements for both new and existing tooling, and providing technical expertise to ensure that current and future projects comply with customer specifications and in-house standards. Responsibilities: * Lead the introduction of all new products, establish standard specifications for each process, and monitor existing production to ensure compliance with these standards. * Optimize processes using statistical techniques. * Collaborate with Production Group Leaders (PGLs) to troubleshoot processing issues. * Build and maintain relationships with customers and equipment/raw material suppliers to drive continuous improvement and business development. * Resolve customer-related problems/issues in conjunction with the Quality department. * Provide formal or informal instruction on manufacturing skills and assist in training employees on new processes or systems. * Coordinate the development of documentation in the Production and Technical areas to comply with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485 requirements, and regularly review these systems with Group Leaders and the Quality department to ensure conformance. * Regularly communicate with external suppliers of materials and equipment, providing feedback on any issues to the management team. * Perform additional duties as requested by the direct supervisor. Qualifications/Requirements: * A minimum of a National Diploma in Plastics Engineering is required; a Degree in Plastics Engineering is preferred. * At least 4-5 years of experience in the injection molding industry. * Strong knowledge of injection mold tooling and design. * Comprehensive understanding of injection molding, including standard processes, multi-component molding, processing, ancillary equipment, and automation systems. * Experience in the Medical, Packaging, or technological industries is preferred. * Some familiarity with real-time monitoring systems is advantageous. * In-depth knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE), with demonstrated application of these methodologies. * Good understanding of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Just-In-Time (JIT), Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), and Kaizen principles. * Proficient in computer systems, integrated manufacturing systems, word processing, and spreadsheets; knowledge of MFG Pro is a distinct advantage. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to accurately document work performed. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Willingness to travel as required by the position. * Ability to work independently on projects while collaborating with various departments.
