Our client is an award-winning mould building company, and a growing medical device precision injection moulding business that has been successfully serving Ireland and the broader European markets for over 30 years. The organisation also brings expertise in building ultra-high-cavitation tooling for the medical device, diagnostics and pharmaceutical markets.THE ROLEResponsible for input into mould design and tooling improvements using polymer processing experiments to test and drive development to meet stringent FAT requirementsDevelop moulding process for new tooling, including debug, troubleshooting and process optimisation/DOEEnsure required process development information accompanies new tooling and is communicated clearly to relevant stakeholdersInterpret processes received and makes necessary assessments for specifying and sourcing of testing equipment to be usedEnsure all equipment is available for scheduled trialsInteract with tooling engineers and relevant teams to ensure timely scheduling of mould testsSet moulds to be testedRecord and maintain all trial information and documentationEnsure all FAT requirements will be met during FAT’sAccompany and support visiting engineers during FAT activitiesComplete all process handover documentation post FAT acceptanceAttend offsite SAT or other activities at customer sites as neededAssist in training new process and customer engineers and those involved in set-up and running of new mouldsIdentify key process parameters for process monitoring and controlTHE PERSONMinimum of 5 years’ experience in injection moulding processing is essentialRelevant 3rd level qualifications, with a focus on plastics processing as desirableMaster Moulder preferred but not essentialComprehensive knowledge and understanding of injection moulding process, machines, robotics and auxiliary equipment is essentialExperienced with hot runner systems and precision injection mouldingUnderstanding of resin structure and behaviour when processed, including stress, orientation and melt rheology as well as resin drying and testingSkilled in basic metrology, working knowledge of geometric tolerancing and ability to interpret drawings and experience in designing and performing DOE’s and process statistical studiesPractical experience with the entire injection moulding process and familiar with machinery up to 300 tonnesKnowledge of ISO standards, TQM and GMP’s is desirableAbility to write reportsAble to present information and respond to queries from management, clients, customers and manufacturing teamsKnowledge in mould design conceptsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusionsSystematic approach to process optimisation and problem solvingUp to date knowledge of injection moulding machine technology and capabilities, willingness to continually improve upon injection mould processing skillsTO APPLYPlease send your updated CV to Tony Hutchinson or apply direct by calling Westray Recruitment Group. #J-18808-Ljbffr
