Seeking a Process Engineer to provide daily support to Operations team and wider business group, leveraging expertise in Warehouse Management Systems and automated picking systems.

Job Description

  • Play a mentoring role in a dynamic Engineering team delivering daily support to the Operations team and wider business group.
  • Work with multiple Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), running 7 FMCG sites.
  • Work with the vendor helpdesk function, ticket management and reporting, to deliver best in class service to the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the processes and systems that drive the day to day operation in the primary distribution facility, Citywest, and regional depots.
  • Provide continuous improvement and process optimization throughout the warehouse, including but not limited to, the application and all its associated processes, workflows and functionalities.
  • Work on high profile Capex and continuous improvement projects as part of multi-discipline teams.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop an expertise in fundamental processes within the integrated warehouse management system and automated picking systems.
  • Develop an expertise on how this system is integrated with a state of the art ERP system (SAP), as well as the ASRS and Miniload systems.
  • Support the operations daily sustaining activities, ensure that the WMS performs to, and exceeds established targets.
  • Support the business in all testing activities on the test WMS.
  • Work as part of a dynamic and multi-discipline team to deliver a robust testing solution.
  • Understand, analyse and eliminate reoccurring faults or bugs on the WMS.
  • Liaise with facilities team on reoccurring mechanical or electrical issues on the automated crane and conveyor system.
  • System auditing and maintenance.
  • Identify potential improvements to the WMS and associated processes.
  • Business and operational analysis (Capacity, efficiency, performance, etc).

Qualification, Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum Honors Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 4-5 years prior Process engineering experience preferably in a mentoring role.
  • Experience in the Pharma/FMCG sectors an advantage.
  • Lean six sigma qualification an advantage.
