Job Description

Objective:To play a mentoring role in a dynamic Engineering team delivering daily support to the Operations team and wider business group. To work with multiple Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), running 7 FMCG sites. Work with the vendor helpdesk function, ticket management and reporting, to deliver best in class service to the business to minimize the impact of downtime to daily operations. To identify opportunities to improve the processes and systems that drive the day-to-day operation in the primary distribution facility, Citywest, and regional depots. The role will be centered on providing continuous improvement and process optimization throughout the warehouse, including but not limited to, the application and all its associated processes, workflows, and functionalities while minimizing/removing all non-value added activities. To work on high profile Capex and continuous improvement projects as part of multi-discipline teamsMain Duties & Responsibilities:Develop an expertise in fundamental processes within the integrated warehouse management system and automated picking systems.Develop an expertise on how this system is integrated with a state of the art ERP system (SAP), as well as the ASRS and Miniload systems.Support the operations daily sustaining activities, ensure that the WMS performs to, and exceeds established targets.Support the business in all testing activities on the test WMS. Work as part of a dynamic and multi-discipline team to deliver a robust testing solution.Understand, analyze, and eliminate reoccurring faults or bugs on the WMS.Liaise with the facilities team on reoccurring mechanical or electrical issues on the automated crane and conveyor system.System auditing and maintenance.Identify potential improvements to the WMS and associated processes.Business and operational analysis (Capacity, efficiency, performance, etc).Qualification, Experience & Skills Required:Minimum Honors Degree in an Engineering discipline. 4-5 years prior Process engineering experience preferably in a mentoring role. Experience in the Pharma/FMCG sectors an advantage.
