Secure the internet and protect consumer data by enhancing and expanding the Alpaca Design System, a high-craft, user-friendly, and highly effective tool for designers and engineers.
Vanta is a collaborative, remote-first company that values alignment with its core principles. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Design Systems Designer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the enhancement and expansion of our Alpaca Design System, ensuring it remains a high-craft, user-friendly, and highly effective tool for our designers and engineers.
The Experience Design organization champions our customers by creating and delivering efficient consumer-grade experiences through our trust management platform. We aim to provide valuable solutions that empower Vanta to grow as a business. Our role is vital to the company's strategic direction, and you will have a significant impact on our product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and expand the Alpaca Design System to meet the evolving needs of the Vanta platform.
- Create and maintain high-quality design components in Figma.
- Ensure all design components are easy to use and well-documented.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design system additions are well-integrated.
- Maintain a high standard of design quality and consistency across all components.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for design components, including usage guidelines.
- Review and test new components to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Champion inclusive and accessible design practices.
- Communicate effectively with engineers and other stakeholders about design implementation details.
- Lead and mentor other designers in using and contributing to the design system.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in designing and managing design systems for SaaS or complex digital environments.
- 6+ years experience in product design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design systems, UI/UX design, and system thinking, and high visual craftsmanship.
- Proven experience in creating inclusive and accessible design solutions.
- Expertise in Figma, including auto-layout, properties, and variables.
- Foundational understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Experience in developing comprehensive documentation for design components.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor other designers.
