Role Summary: Manage a team of Scientists, develop new coating formulations, and drive technology implementation in a laboratory setting.
- 10 years of industry experience in formulating coatings with a proven track record of mentoring and managing people.
- Practical industry experience is a must, preferably from the Paint or Automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and perfect new coating formulations to achieve breakthrough product performance requirements.
- Design and implement new processes required for the implementation of new coating technologies.
- Drive the successful development and transfer of technologies from product conception to industrialization and launch.
- Direct others' technical activities, provide mentorship, and own development plans for staff members.
- Develop and present information to inform and influence internal and external customers and gain alignment across stakeholders.
- Actively monitor regulations and lead R&D efforts to comply with changing requirements.
- Document all lab work to support applications for Intellectual Property and internal standards requirements.
Requirements:
- An Honours Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years industry experience.
- Hands-on laboratory work and process development experience.
- Strong, open communicator with clear fluent English and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Design of experiments using statistical software and applied research in coating development.
