Job Description
Summary: Senior Project Accountant for Business Unit managing project budgetary control, periodic reporting, financial planning, project controls, contract management, and funding cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project contract financial management
- Provide periodic financial reports with commentaries on variances
- Analysis and preparation of periodic accruals
- Produce variance analysis reports
- Ensure effective internal controls within the business unit
- Identify and document process improvements
- Budget, Forecast & 5 Year Planning preparation
- Provide information according to the agreed reporting calendar
- Periodic reports on third-party performance
- Assist with auditing processes
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 3 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in Project Accounting and Infrastructure Project Accounting
- Essential Forecasting experience
- Understanding of project expenditure, accruals, retentions, and cash flow
- Understanding of contracts, contract variations, and procurement to invoice process
- Strong understanding of Irish Tax Law and its impact on project budgets and forecasts
- Ability to prepare high-quality, timely financial reports
- Problem-solving and change management skills
- Knowledge of SAP Financial, Controlling & Project Management modules
- Knowledge of public procurement
