Senior Project Civil / Environmental EngineerSenior Project Civil / Environmental EngineerRPS is currently recruiting for an experienced civil / environmental engineer to join our water and utilities infrastructure team. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience working in a consultancy / regulatory role related to the environmental assessment of civil infrastructure design and consenting.The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy team responsible for the design and consenting stages of significant civil engineering infrastructure projects throughout Ireland. You will work closely with designers, environmental scientists, planners and other professionals. You will report to the Environmental Lead / Project Manager and be a key member of an integrated project team defining the Project Description and coordinating the delivery of the complex environmental documents required to support major infrastructure planning applications.About You:You will have:Degree qualified in civil engineering or related technical discipline with an environmental component.Experience in coordinating complex planning applications (Local Authority / An Bord Pleanála) and associated documentation for infrastructure developments.Familiarity with relevant Irish and European planning and environmental legislation e.g. EIA Directive and transposing Regulations.Knowledge of the Habitats Directive and Water Framework Directive is desirable.Excellent organisational, attention to detail and coordinating skills.Excellent oral and written communication and report writing skills.Experience of managing deliverables to deadlines as part of a wider team.Hard working, pragmatic and highly motivated individual - client focused with good interpersonal skills and team approach.Full clean driving licence.Key Skills/Attributes:A postgraduate qualification in a relevant engineering / environmental engineering discipline is beneficial.Previous work experience within a professional consultancy working as part of a multidisciplinary infrastructure team.Experience in compiling Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) reports on the likely impacts of proposed developments and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.Membership and/or chartership with a relevant professional body.Experience utilising GIS systems e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo and or others.What we offer you:We will give you the opportunity to work with some of the best talent in this industry.
