Senior Project Civil / Environmental Engineer

RPS is recruiting an experienced civil / environmental engineer to join its water and utilities infrastructure team.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead environmental assessment of civil infrastructure design and consenting.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy team responsible for the design and consenting stages of significant civil engineering infrastructure projects throughout Ireland.

The role involves working closely with designers, environmental scientists, planners, and other professionals to develop complex environmental documents required to support major infrastructure planning applications.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development of project descriptions and coordinate the delivery of complex environmental documents.
  • Coordinate with designers, environmental scientists, planners, and other professionals to ensure accurate and effective project execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive project success.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in environmental assessment, design, and consenting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree-qualified in civil engineering or a related technical discipline with an environmental component.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in environmental assessment, design, and consenting.
  • Strong understanding of Irish and European planning and environmental legislation, including the EIA Directive and transposing Regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and coordinating skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and report writing skills.
