Job Description

The Company Our client is an exciting clean technology focussed start-up. They have ambitious growth plans and now require a Senior Project Engineer to join the team to deliver new products and design improvement projects to help to scale the business for a global market from their site in Birdhill, Co. Tipperary. (Close to Limerick) The successful candidate will be joining a team alongside renowned industry leaders in a young, fast growing clean tech company. The Role The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for managing a range of new equipment and manufacturing improvement projects to support both the current GENERATIONs system and future company products. The role includes design, project management and hands-on execution responsibilities as part of a growing start up organisation. The key area of responsibility are: Deliver a range of equipment related projects to support the company's family of products Deliver projects to improve the manufacturing process and address product quality and or reliability issues Collaborate across the business to identify User Requirement Specifications (URS) and prototype solutions for new products Ensure all projects are completed, on time, on budget & in line with current regulations and industry best practice for design and execution. This role will be part of an Operations Leadership Team and will work collaboratively across functions to deliver the shared goals of the business Responsibilities Deliver a portfolio of new design & design improvement projects to enhance existing products in support of our product roadmap Identify issues impacting the manufacture and reliable performance of existing products and deliver projects fully resolve the problem. Provide both leadership and technical input to the projects in the portfolio Gather stakeholder inputs and document scope, timelines and deliverables in the project charter. For new designs ensure user requirements are agree and captured in a URS Ensure all design projects include the appropriate milestones and deliverables including Generation of a design plan Documenting design inputs & outputs Creating product risk files & design FMEAs Documenting product specifications and maintaining design history file. Ensure all processes and steps will be documented, and design review meetings will be held in accordance with the design plan Ensure all designs and solutions are fit for purpose by executing appropriate testing against the specification to demonstrate function and reliability Generate supporting documents (bill of materials, operational manual, technical documentation, manufacturing instructions etc) and manage the transition from prototype to manufacturing Agree and publish project plans/timelines and communicate progress to stakeholders Proactively address issues and problems and work collaboratively across the team to implement solutions Flexibility & Teamwork: Our client is a young & growing organisation where priorities can change rapidly in response to business and customer needs. Colleagues are required to show agility and support each other across functions as required. This can include both task and project responsibilities. Key requirements for the role Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Elec/Mech. Process or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. Note: Other educational backgrounds may be considered if supported by significant applicable experiences Experience: 7 years of experience in the manufacture of electrical/mechanical equipment, with at least 3 years in a project leadership role. Proven track record of managing and resolving technical issues with external partners Skills and Competencies: A demonstrated track record of leading and delivering equipment projects Strong leadership and project management skills. Excellent technical skills and deep knowledge of world class equipment design methodologies & manufacturing processes Good knowledge off applicable regulations relating to the design & manufacture of Elec/Mech equipment (EU machinery directive, US UL requirement etc) Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
