Job Description

Senior Project Engineers are sought to manage large infrastructure projects, balancing project management with a good understanding of power systems, and conceiving innovative solutions.

We are the people behind Ireland's electricity grid, operating the power system with world-leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring everyone has power when they need it.

We are transforming the power system for future generations, with a critical purpose to reduce carbon emissions and meet climate change and net zero ambitions.

The Infrastructure office is responsible for new HV stations and circuit projects, as well as upgrade and refurbishment projects on the existing network.

The successful candidate will work on projects across their entire life cycle, from project initiation to project close, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

The role involves a combination of office-based working and site visits to both existing and new substations and transmission circuit sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing large infrastructure projects from conceptual phase to project close
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions, or new ways of doing things
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations

Requirements include:

  • An engineering degree or technical equivalent with a minimum of 4 years' experience managing large infrastructure projects
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience in project management and power systems
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a proficiency in English required

If you believe you have the skills and experience relevant for this position, please upload your CV and a cover letter (in one document).
