Job Description
Senior Project Engineers are sought to manage large infrastructure projects, balancing project management with a good understanding of power systems, and conceiving innovative solutions.
We operate Ireland's electricity grid with world-leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring power is available when needed.
The Infrastructure team is responsible for new HV stations and circuit projects, as well as upgrade and refurbishment projects on the existing network.
The successful candidate will work on projects across their entire life cycle, from initiation to close, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
The role involves a combination of office-based working and site visits to both existing and new substations and transmission circuit sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing large infrastructure projects from conceptual phase to handover for detailed design and construction phase.
- Delivering projects to approved schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions, or new ways of doing things.
Requirements include:
- An engineering degree or technical equivalent with a minimum of 4 years' experience managing large infrastructure projects.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Experience conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions, or new ways of doing things.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a proficiency in English required.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation.
