Location: Cluain Mhuire Services Initial Base: Avila House, Block 5, Blackrock Business Park Senior Psychologist with the Youth Mental Health EIP Service Full Time (35 hrs)* Permanent Saint John of God Community Services, Community Mental Health Services Cluain Mhuire Service are now inviting applications for the post of Senior Psychologist. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, innovative and committed to providing a quality service that responds to the needs and priorities of our service users. Early intervention for psychosis services have developed in many countries worldwide including Ireland.The Dublin and East Treatment and Early Care Team (DETECT) is an Irish Early Intervention for Psychosis Service (The multidisciplinary team provides specialist interventions for all those who are diagnosed with a psychotic illness. Additionally, there is a programme of service evaluation and research underway.Following the launch of the National Model of Care for Early Intervention in Psychosis, National Clinical Programme, (HSE, 2019), Cluain Mhuire has been funded to provide specialist assessment and treatment for young people aged 14-18 with psychosis throughout CHO 6.This is a new and exciting development. This post would suit an experienced clinician who has experience in psychosis and who would now relish the challenge of being part of a new Team tasked with setting up an innovative service for adolescents with psychosis. Prior experience in new service development would be an advantage.This post is part of the National Clinical Programme for EIP for Youth Mental Health for Dublin South East and Wicklow - CHO6 Mental Health Services. This post would suit an experienced Senior Psychologist who has extensive experience in psychosis and who would now relish the challenge of being part of a new Team tasked with setting up an innovative service for adolescents with psychosis. Prior experience in new service development would be an advantage.This post is part of the National Clinical Programme for EIP for Youth Mental Health for Dublin South East and Wicklow - CHO6 Mental Health Services.The Senior Psychologist will provide a safe, quality service reflective of professional standards and ethics, ensuring at all times that practice is within the scope of Mental Health Senior Psychology Post. They will work as part of a dynamic Multidisciplinary EIP Team providing assessment, treatment planning and intervention, with supervision and support from the Principal Psychologist. They will join an experienced Psychology Department and will have opportunities to progress their professional and clinical skills. *Applications will be considered for those wanting to work part-time. Minimum Requirements Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above and the successful candidates must: Have a recognized university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland obtained with 1st class honours or 2nd class honours grade 1, in which Psychology was taken as a major subject. Have a recognized post-graduate professional qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in clinical, counselling or educational psychology. For those who obtained their training and qualifications abroad, the equivalence with the above training and qualifications must be validated by the Department of Health. Have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which were spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification. Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years experience requirement. Have post-qualification experience of working in either a CAMHs service or AMHs service for 1 year carrying out assessments and conducting psychological therapy. Have knowledge and understanding of the complex needs of this client group. Understand mental health as it relates to psychosis. Be familiar with comorbid mental health conditions in adolescents such as other neurodevelopmental disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation difficulties and drug and alcohol abuse. Have experience of group work. Have experience of working within an MDT. Have knowledge and experience in counselling and advocacy as it relates to the role. Have a clean drivers license and have access to transport to fulfil the requirements of the role. Have knowledge of the service provided at the Lucena Clinic and at the Cluain Mhuire Service. Previous experience of working in an Adult Mental Health service is desirable. The CHO6 EIP CAMHs Service is a public service and as such staff on the team are not permitted to see patients who are attending the service or on a waiting list for the service in private practice.This is to ensure that there is no conflict of interest between their public and private work. Remuneration Salary Grade 367Y Psychologist, Senior Clinical on the Consolidated HSE Pay Scale €93,731 - €110,175 per annum pro rata Initial location The initial location of this role is Avila House in Blackrock Business Park. However, you may be required, from time to time, to work at SJOG CSs other places of business or/and the premises of such associated s companies or organisations as SJOG CS may require.
