Job Description

We are working on behalf of an established residential developer to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will work on residential projects in Dublin and Kildare. Our client, with over 30 years of experience in building residential projects in Ireland, the UK, and Germany, envisions this role progressing to the position of Commercial Manager over the Irish division. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will report directly to the General Manager and play a vital role in successfully delivering residential projects. Responsibilities: Conduct accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and cost plans for residential projects. Prepare tender documents. Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials, labour, and equipment. Manage and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines. Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow, providing regular reports to the General Manager. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimize project costs. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, as well as relevant regulations and industry standards. Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate commercial risks. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors within the team. Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, promoting effective communication and collaboration. Requirements: Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor. Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on residential projects with contractors or developers. Excellent knowledge of quantity surveying practices, cost management, and contract administration. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in creating clear and concise reports and presentations. Familiarity with relevant industry software and tools. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering. Valid driver's license.
