Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor role in Co Cork, Ireland, requires expertise in contractual matters, cost management, and negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on contractual matters at general and project levels.
  • Process contractual claims and associated records.
  • Maximise revenue and reduce costs, identifying and investigating losses.
  • Assist with project cash management and advise on project correspondence.
  • Negotiate and agree subcontractors, suppliers' prices, and terms.
  • Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and review monthly cost reports, risk registers, and variation trackers.
  • Negotiate subcontractors' and suppliers' final accounts.
  • Variations: measurement, pricing, and negotiation with client, quantity surveyor, and subcontractor.

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on construction/civils projects.
  • Ability to work on large-scale, high-headcount construction sites and sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager, dealing with internal stakeholders and client's representatives.
  • Strong time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site.
