Job Description
Join a market-leading international main contractor as Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager, overseeing large projects in Ireland, the UK, or Europe.
- Manage a team to ensure commercial aspects of projects are handled effectively.
- Responsible for cost controlling and ensuring budgets are met.
- Manage client relationships and ensure final accounts are agreed.
- Engage with project managers to protect commercial interests.
- Monitor projects through the design stage and work with the design team.
- Issue tender queries, prepare tender reports, and let subcontract packages.
- Prepare progress applications, cost reports, and monthly management accounts.
- Report on financial progression of projects.
- Vet main contracts and negotiate commercial risks.
- Participate in management issues and support the Area Manager.
- Provide commercial assurance of project margin performance.
- Review and manage projects for accurate and reliable reporting.
Necessary Requirements:
- 3rd level Qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics.
- Strong technical background in contracting.
- Proven track record of quantity surveying fundamentals.
- Experience with GCCC form of contract.
- 10 years' experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager in Ireland or the UK.
- Experience leading commercial function on projects over €30 million.
- Good presentation, management, and written communication skills.
