Job Description

One of Ireland's leading civil engineering contractors is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Dublin. This role offers the opportunity to work with a company renowned for its excellence in civil engineering, with a substantial pipeline of work across Dublin and the Midlands area. Key Responsibilities: Cost Management: Manages all aspects of project cost control, including preparing cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts. Ensures that projects are completed within budget and maximizes cost efficiency. Tendering & Procurement: Prepares and evaluates tenders, negotiates contracts, and oversees the procurement of materials and subcontractors. Ensures that all procurement activities align with project timelines and budgets. Contract Administration: Administers contracts, including assessing and managing variations, claims, and disputes. Ensures that all contractual obligations are met and that the project adheres to legal and regulatory requirements. Valuations & Payments: Prepares interim valuations and final accounts, ensuring accurate and timely payment processes. Works closely with clients and subcontractors to ensure all financial aspects are managed effectively. Risk Management: Identifies and mitigates potential financial risks associated with projects. Develops strategies to manage these risks and ensures that they are communicated to relevant stakeholders. Financial Reporting: Prepares detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into project performance, cost trends, and financial forecasts. Qualifications & Experience: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of experience in quantity surveying, with significant exposure to civil engineering projects. In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and cost management techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with experience in stakeholder management. Proficiency in relevant software, including cost estimation and project management tools. Key Competencies: Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of the financial and commercial aspects of civil engineering projects, with the ability to maximize profitability. Leadership: Ability to lead and develop a team, ensuring high standards of work and professional growth. Negotiation: Skilled in negotiating contracts and managing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Analytical Thinking: Capable of analyzing complex financial data and making informed decisions to drive project success.
