KM Lynskey are seeking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our main contracting team in a permanent role based at our offices in North Dublin and focused on various projects around Dublin and surrounding counties. The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently and within a team, have strong communication skills, and have strong leadership qualities. THE ROLE: Senior Quantity Surveyor DUTIES: Managing and being responsible for the commercial elements of several projects running in parallel from start to finish including final account negotiations Working closely with the operations and delivery team ensuring work is carried out as effectively as possible Managing project cash flow Identifying and managing risks and opportunities Acting as a mentor to junior surveyors / project surveyors and offer commercial support and guidance to your immediate team and the wider project team Managing the process of change management and contract administration with the Design Team / Client. Overseeing and assisting in managing major suppliers and subcontractors on the various projects. Oversee the procurement of new suppliers & subcontractors. Cost reporting - including preparation of accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for review with the senior leadership team monthly. Completing pre and post contract correspondence on projects Over seeing the commercial management of the projects and preparing Budgets and monitoring same with the Project Team and Senior management Team Review and complete assessment of Value Engineering Opportunities on all projects REQUIREMENTS: Essential Skills Strong commercial background in main contracting Previous experience working on Residential, Commercial, and Industrial or similar projects with a Main Contractor In-depth knowledge and understanding of construction processes, techniques, and systems Ability to coach and mentor more junior staff Strong negotiator with a client focused approach Ability to understand contract conditions and experience of same Ability to understand the measurement of quantities Highly motivated and Ambitious Education & Experience Hold Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying 7-10+ years experience in quantity surveying and commercial roles If you have the above experience and necessary qualifications and would like to be considered, please send your application via Irish Jobs to Richard Walsh at KM Lynskey.
