Job Description

Our client is a family-owned business specialising in engineering, design, build, and project management. Renowned worldwide, our client boasts a turnover exceeding 3 billion. Their European headquarters is located in Dublin, with branches spanning across Europe. Counting some of the world's leading brands among clients, they oversee a diverse range of exciting projects across the Europe. As they continue to grow, they are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Responsibilities: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional estimating and costing services in support of our clients' projects across Europe. You will work on projects of varying sizes and values spanning multiple European locations. – Very limited travel required. Key tasks include: * Overseeing the estimating process for a diverse range of projects throughout Europe. * Creating detailed Bills of Quantities. * Maintaining an up-to-date estimating database, including rate building as needed. * Identifying and promptly reporting potential commercial risks. * Reviewing and evaluating tenders to provide accurate support and costings. * Analysing data and drawings to determine material and labour requirements and preparing itemized cost estimates when necessary. * Evaluating multiple tenders, conducting bid analysis, and awarding subcontracts. * Computing cost factors and preparing estimates for planning, organizing, scheduling work, bidding, change order pricing, vendor or subcontractor agreements, and cost-effectiveness determination. * Conducting special studies to establish standard hour and cost data or achieve cost reductions. * Developing and delivering presentations internally and externally to clients. * Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of all work divisions and extracting necessary information from clients to develop Request for Proposal documents. * Providing conceptual estimates and project scopes based on limited client information. * Commercially managing contracts and ensuring profitability. * Conducting monthly evaluations and cost reporting. * Maintaining and managing variation logs. * Resolving construction disputes as they arise. * Agreeing on final accounts. * Undertaking general contract administration duties. Qualifications: * Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. * Possess strong demonstrated experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or Estimating. * Have previous experience in main contracting or Professional Quantity Surveying. * Chartered Surveyor status or interest in working towards Chartership in the near future is desirable. * Proficient in IT skills, including the use of estimating software (advantageous). * Motivated individual with the ability to work independently. * Willingness to learn and develop professionally. * Demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding. * Knowledgeable about construction processes and techniques. * Attention to detail. * Strong work ethic. * Excellent time management skills.
