Senior R&D Engineer required to lead technical projects, develop innovative biomaterials, and enhance company's intellectual property portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to project teams and assume reporting responsibilities for team members.
- Manage R&D projects to meet customer needs, develop test methods, and qualify strategies to meet design intent.
- Interact with customers and vendors, identify new equipment and materials, and provide solutions to customers.
- Present weekly updates to senior management on client projects and provide technical reports as needed.
- Develop and enhance company's unique biomaterials application offerings and contribute to enhancing intellectual property portfolio.
Key Requirements for the Role
- Third-level primary degree in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering or Materials/Polymer Science, with a Master's or Ph.D. in these areas a distinct advantage.
- 5-8 years of commercial experience in an R&D role in the Medical Device Industry.
- Aptitude for analytical problem-solving and creative thinking to solve complex problems.
- Hands-on approach to innovative concept design, development of novel products, and fabrication processes.
- Strong initiative and follow-through in executing project responsibilities, overcoming obstacles, and balancing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate concepts, ideas, and knowledge to all levels of the organization.
