**Senior R&D Manager – Neuromodulation Job Description** Lead a team of engineers in the development of innovative medical devices and procedures, driving the growth and success of Medtronic's Research & Development Department in Galway, Ireland. **Job Responsibilities:** * Guide and motivate a team of engineers responsible for designing and developing pioneering transcatheter medical devices and procedures. * Partner with internal and external experts to maintain and strengthen clinical and technical expertise. * Grow and nurture cross-site and cross-functional relationships in a large, multi-site, matrixed organization. * Manage high-level engineers and other managers involved in product development and technology exploration projects. * Actively mentor, coach, and ensure career development plans are in place for direct reports. * Collaborate with core teams to establish objectives and evaluate the progress of direct reports. * Manage functional cost center budget and resource allocation. * Generate novel and unique solutions to engineering and organizational challenges. **Key Skills & Experience:** * Level 8 Degree in Engineering or related discipline, Masters/PhD preferred. * 10 years relevant direct engineering experience within a similar environment. * Minimum of three to five years direct managerial experience of engineers. * Excellent team building, communication, people management, and management skills. * Dynamic team player and mentor with experience in the medical device market. * Proven result-driven record of accomplishment. **About Medtronic:** Medtronic is a global healthcare technology leader that boldly attacks the most challenging health problems facing humanity.
