Job Description: Resident Engineer to oversee civil engineering projects in Cork, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and compliance with regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Review and interpret project plans and specifications
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Resolve technical issues that arise during construction
- Prepare regular progress reports and communicate with clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with design team to address design changes or issues
- Ensure relevant permits and licenses are obtained and projects comply with regulatory requirements
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Proven experience as Resident Engineer or similar role in civil engineering industry
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools such as Auto CAD, MS Project, and construction management software
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and dynamic environment
Current project has a contract for the next 18 months, with guaranteed work following with new projects in the city.
