Resident Engineer
Access Talent Group is supporting an international consultancy seeking a skilled Resident Engineer to join their team in Cork.
As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations and quality standards.
- Manage and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
- Review and interpret project plans and specifications
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Resolve any technical issues that arise during the construction process
- Prepare regular progress reports and communicate with clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with the design team to address any design changes or issues that may arise during construction
- Ensure all relevant permits and licenses are obtained and that all projects comply with regulatory requirements
Preferred Candidate Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
- Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or similar role in the civil engineering industry
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools such as Auto CAD, MS Project, and construction management software
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Current project has a contract for the next 18 months, with guaranteed work following with new projects in the city.
