Job Description
Seeking a skilled Resident Engineer to oversee civil engineering projects in Cork, managing construction, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Review and interpret project plans and specifications
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Conduct site visits and monitor progress
- Resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Prepare regular progress reports and communicate with clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with the design team to address design changes or issues
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Preferred candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools
The current project has a contract for 18 months, with guaranteed work following with new projects in the city.
