Purpose of the Post: As a Senior Respiratory Physiologist, you will assist with the provision, management and development of a high-quality diagnostic service in the Respiratory Department. You will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive respiratory diagnostic services. You will work closely with a dedicated team of professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, contributing to the continued success and development of this busy and progressive department. Successful candidate: You will be competent to perform a wide range of advanced Respiratory and sleep studies, and CPAP therapy management. You will have proven ability of managing the day-to-day running of the Respiratory department, ensuring the efficient use of resources. Responsibilities: Perform a comprehensive range of standard non-invasive respiratory diagnostic tests, including Spirometry, Reversibility studies, Lung volume measurements using Gas Dilution Methods, Lung Volume assessments via Body Plethysmography, Diffusion capacity tests and Respiratory muscle function tests as required, including SNIP, MIP, and MEP. Conduct advanced respiratory diagnostic tests such as: Bronchoprovocation challenges, Skin Allergy Testing and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Support Sleep Services, including setting up overnight diagnostic Polysomnography (full and limited studies), Setting up patients for overnight titration studies using CPAP therapy and Analysing study results and preparing reports Perform daily tasks in the respiratory lab, including scheduling appointments, handling inquiries, preparing reports, and maintaining records. Manage administrative duties such as stock control, personnel files, and statistical data collection. Perform diagnostic procedures, report findings, and identify any abnormal or inconsistent results. Stay current with training and knowledge and participate in research when required. Eligibility Criteria: BSc in Clinical Measurement Science or Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS) or an equivalent relevant scientific. qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS). CORU registered. Candidates must have 3 years post qualification experience Proven clinical competence and relevant experience in a Respiratory Department Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in computer skills including Microsoft Power Point, Excel and Word. Have flexibility in approach to respiratory diagnostic service delivery Demonstrate motivation and personal focus on continuing professional development. Demonstrated clinical, leadership, project management, managerial, and customer care skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. A compassionate and patient-focused individual with excellent communication skills. A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
