Job Description

Senior Risk Specialist role at Fineco Asset Management DAC involves controlling, reporting, and analysis of risk management framework to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.

Fineco Asset Management DAC is a Dublin-based asset management subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. with a 20-year history and a fully digital DNA. The company has approximately €31.9bn in assets under management and is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS Management Company.

The Risk team is responsible for a broad range of activities, including controlling, reporting, and analysis of the risk management framework of the Company with focus across both investment and operational risk management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Performing controls on the Fund Risk Frameworks, ensuring risk framework adherence across the relevant risk categories and that risk measurement techniques and reporting are correctly developed and applied.
  • Controlling, reporting, and analysis of the investment risk controls and reports to include Absolute VaR, Relative VaR, Commitment approach, Stress Tests, and/or Scenario Analysis.
  • Development, preparation, and analysis of the firms Sustainability Risk assessments, including keeping abreast of latest regulatory developments and assistance in translating those developments into robust processes.
  • Acting as first point of contact for review and challenge of CIO teams interpretation and application of the risk frameworks and controlling on the outcomes.
  • Providing assistance in the risk review and analysis for the new product approval process.
  • Working with the DP for Fund Risk on preparation of ad hoc commentary and reporting on specific aspects of investment risk as it pertains to the firms products.
  • Producing reporting and analysis on fund performance, to include performance contribution and attribution.

Operational Risk:

  • Providing coverage on day-to-day risk control activities related to operational risk inherent in activities, processes, and systems, including as part of the risk & control self-assessment process.
  • Reporting and analysis of Operational Risk profiles and material exposures to losses, including development of relevant metrics.
  • Implementation of strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to control and/or mitigate material operational risks.
  • Development with the DP Operational Risk of the operational risk event response framework, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking.
  • Identification and monitoring of potential gaps in the current risk and control profile and providing consulting and assistance to other functions to increase the level of risk awareness.
  • Roll out of firm wide Risk training program as it relates to Business Continuity Management, Cyber Risk, and Operational Risk Incidents.

Governance:

  • Participating in the Risk Committee, including preparation of the agenda, compiling, and delivering content and preparation of minutes.
  • Preparing risk reports to the CEO, the Board of Directors, and to the Group CRO Function as necessary.
  • Acknowledging the regulations of the Group, ensuring the local implementation through internal processes and policies, in adherence with the policies of the parent company.
  • Contributing to regular bi-lateral forums with the first line Investment function within Fineco AM.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors/masters degree in economics/finance/mathematics etc.
  • At least 3/5 years in a financial services industry, preferably gained in a risk or asset management context.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of UCITS regulations is advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Completion, or interest in pursuing, professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CFA will be considered a plus.
