Job Description

Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Environment Sciences, Climate Action, Sustainability, Resource Management, and Renewable Energy.FT assists our clients with the preparation of Climate Action Plans, Climate/Sustainability related research and studies, Sustainability Strategies and Plans, Resource Management Plans, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA).FT is looking to recruit a Senior Scientist who will work as an integral and instrumental member of the Environmental Science team in either the Dublin, Cork or Carlow office, delivering impactful climate action and environmental projects for the public and private sector, aiding the expansion of the business and working closely with fellow professionals. This position offers exposure to a broad range of areas within the climate action, sustainability, and environmental spheres.FT's ResponsibilitiesProject managementCoordination and technical delivery of EIA and SEADevelopment of Climate Action/Sustainability Strategies and PlansCarrying out Climate Action/Sustainability related research and studiesProviding expert climate, sustainability and environmental advice and technical assistanceBusiness development, marketing and tenderingSkills / QualificationsEducated to degree level in a relevant climate, sustainability or environmental disciplineA minimum of 5-7 years post-graduate experience working in the areas of climate action, sustainability, or environmental assessmentChartered status in relevant disciplineExcellent knowledge of climate and environmental policy and legislationProven track record in project management, climate action planning, sustainability strategy and planning, EIA and SEA. Team and client management desirableExcellent attention to detailBe flexible and a good team playerExcellent report writing and technical reviewing skillsExperience of engaging with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and sub-contractorsAn attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate including a competitive salary, shorter working Friday, medical benefit and professional body support.
