AbbVie seeks a Senior Scientist to join the Product Development, Science and Technology team in Dublin, driving innovation and solving complex technical challenges.

The Senior Scientist will be part of the Small Molecule Drug Product department, applying pharmaceutical sciences, oral dosage process engineering, and applied statistics to contribute to NPI commercialization activities and product on-market support.

  • Demonstrate skill in multiple laboratory, equipment and statistical techniques and modify protocols as required.
  • Generate and analyze data from laboratory, pilot and commercial plant trials and draw relevant conclusions.
  • Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations.
  • Demonstrate ownership and understanding for all technical aspects of assigned Products including manufacturing, packaging, regulatory, safety and supply chain.
  • Lead collaborative technical discussions and author/verify/review supporting technical documents.
  • Contribute to Chemistry Manufacturing Controls team discussions for strategy, technical assessment/recommendation and data interpretation.
  • Gain stakeholder buy-in for Drug Product technical strategies.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in own field.
  • Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough theoretical and practical understanding of their scientific discipline, ability to work largely independently with limited supervision, and effective writing and communication skills.
